2009 Star Lake Junior Futurity Show
Star Lake proudly hosted youth of the Hereford breed for our annual Junior Futurity Show. Participants were youth customers who purchased Star Lake heifer projects in the previous year and brought those heifers back to compete on May 15, 2009, in the Junior Futurity Show held the day prior to Star Lake's Seedstock Source Sale. The juniors shown here were awarded nearly $20,000 in cash, Star Lake credits and prizes. This is the 16th year that Star Lake has sponsored this event, and ranch owners Jim and Randy Blin presented the youth with their prizes. The grand champion heifer was exhibited by Andre Howe of Wagontown, Pa. His heifer was STAR Klairabelle 73U ET. Andre's brother, Austin, showed the reserve grand champion heifer, STAR Rikka Spirrit 179U ET, sired by STAR TRF Independence 26P ET. Good luck to all these youth with these heifers, and we are proud that they selected Star Lake as their source for Herefords.
